Young Executives Induction Program

COURSE OVERVIEW:
Due to rapidly evolving management techniques, both public and private sector entitles need to up-skill staff with modern techniques that will enable them to be effective in making management decisions at executive levels. Newly recruited Staff need to be made to understand the dynamics and environment in which their respective organizations are operating. Managers also need to be be equipped with tools that will enable them to effectively manage staff, equipment, infrastructure and information systems. They will also need to learn how to manage diverse staff of different backgrounds and races as well as different gender in their organizations. This two weeks course is a prerequisite for promotion to management level in most organizations. The Course shall prepare staff to take up important roles as Managers and Supervisors in their respective organizations. The course shall give the trainees a broad overview of the entire organization and its operational areas ranging from HR, Finance, Production, Quality management, customer care, taxation, management decision making, management tools , ICT as well as budgeting 

TARGET AUDIENCES 

This Course is meant for young executives from public and private sector organizations that include but not limited to Communication, Energy, Utilities, Municipalities, Logistics companies, Hotels and Resorts, Aviation, Military, Administration, Educational institutions, Healthcare Sector, Insurance, Mining, Manufacturing , Ports and Airports , Humanitarian not for profits as well as civil society organizations in southern Africa.

PREREQUISITES: 

Degree or Diploma in any professional fields 
Staff who are due for promotion to management levels. 
Supervisory staff and section heads 
New recruited staff 
Management trainees

MODE OF TRAINING
The training shall include power-point presentations, simulations, case studies, group exercises, module Quizzes, and a final test. The Course shall be conducted by different lecturers for each module.

MODULE ONE: INTRODUCTION TO MANAGEMENT STYLES
Module Objectives:
To introduce participants to how organizations are structured, the different types of management styles and the
roles and duties of a manager in an organization. The Module shall highlight differences between transaction and
transformation management practices.

MODULE TWO: CORPORATE CULTURE
Module Objectives:
This Module shall introduce delegates to how they should conduct themselves as Executives both in office and in
public. The module shall stress good codes of conduct of an executive officer and how he or she should handle
finances of the organization without indulging into corrupt malpractices. The Module gives tips to effective
management.

MODULE THREE: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Module objectives:
This Module shall discuss financial matters of the organization. Delegates will be taken through financial and
accounting best practices and how to maximize revenue earnings. They will learn how to prepare income
statements and cash flow in their departments as well as balance sheets. They will also learn how to prepare
departmental budgets and how to report financial reports to top management
