17 to 21 October 2026 – Nairobi
Fiber optics technology has become the most cost-effective solution for connecting consumers to the core networks of fixed, mobile, and internet service providers. Today, most user terminals and wireless access points rely on fiber backbones to deliver high-speed internet access. FTTX/PON Technology (Fiber to the X/Passive Optical Network) enables operators and service providers to connect customers to fast, reliable internet services. This course will explore the critical factors involved in planning, designing, and deploying FTTX/PON infrastructure.
It will cover technical, economic, regulatory, and standardization challenges associated with FTTX/PON deployments. Additionally, the course will highlight essential deployment techniques and revenue opportunities for operators and service providers.
